That means more hide sliced per stroke. #25 is 1/4" blade stock. #28 is 3/16". Trapper is beefier on all occasions. I've used both, like both. Eastern Whitetail etc. there is not a huge difference. Out west on elk, bear, etc...1/4" stock for me...and hogs too! Stay Sharp, Capt.
