For those who own them do you find a big difference in them or mainly the handles are the big differance? I love my 28 and been looking for a 25 but the more I look at them the more they seem very similar.
Been eyeballing a model 8-4 too so there's that
Your ' in "there's" was funky, forum software didn't like it.

#25 is 5" or 6" blade length. That means more hide sliced per stroke. #25 is 1/4" blade stock. #28 is 3/16". Trapper is beefier on all occasions. I've used both, like both. Eastern Whitetail etc. there is not a huge difference. Out west on elk, bear, etc...1/4" stock for me...and hogs too! Stay Sharp, Capt. Chris
Thanks. I knew the spec difference but was mainly looking for what the captain said basically. I think I'll go with the model 8-4 for My next one to not get something as close to what I currently have. The 5-5 is also tempting. I had a 5-6 once and seemed to big for a real hunting knife for whitetails and turkeys.
Again your ' (in "I'll") was a from different character set than what the forum software prefers.
