I second the 26. I have "a few" from custom makers that are similar and find this style extremely useful. The dimensions are about perfect for most any application.

Model 28 would be a good choice, I think, until it gets cold out. I stay away from exposed metal on a knife handle for my winter adventures, most of which are well into the negative temps.
