When are you headed down to FL for your lizard hunt and fishing? The show Deadmeat on the Outdoor channel just had a guided iguana hunt and Snakehead fishing guide in the canals that you might find helpful.

Pap,
If the plan comes together,it will probably be in early to mid-April.

Thank you for the heads up on the information.

I may use either my Air Force Air Rifle (Condor) 22 suppressed or my Benjamin Discovery 22 air rifle-suppressed for the iguanas

Fishing would basically be a light bass rig with top water lures.

Billy,
Left eye was done about two weeks ago. All is clear,no probles.

However the right eye, still has a bit of a "cloud" known as Posterior Capsular Opacification (PCO) which can be cleared up with a simple procedure.

Glad to hear all worked out well for you.

Right now,we still have about a foot and a half of solid ice outside and things are still fairly cold and dreary.

Hopefully a warm up is on the way and I will be able to go out on squirrel safari before season ends. Coyote season is all year long.

Wayne,
Z and I just returned from winter break in Marathon, in the Florida Keys.
The iguanas are plentiful and waiting for you.
A few people we met thought the iguanas were neat, but the majority were all for keeping a pellet gun handy and shooting them whenever you saw them.
The HOA maintenance man where we were staying has killed 300 in the last 3 years and is constantly on the look-out. All the folks in the TownHouse complex told us to kill em when we saw em.

David,
Thanks for the information. I get a kick watching little Jessican of Iguana Snipers picking them off left and right!

I also put in my tag for a Buffalo Hunt out on Kodiak Island,Alaska and will see if it is drawn in mid May.

Obviously,my Air Force Condor would not be used for that but my Shiloh Sharps 1874 (certainly cannot use that on iguanas!!)

Common recipes for the iguana include stews (guisado), pozole, birria, roasted in tacos and flautas. People in parts of South Florida have started cooking iguana meat after the Florida Wildlife Agency encouraged residents to kill green iguanas on their own property.

Bob,
I had heard that iguanas were edible,if fact quite tasty.

The common phrase that they taste like chicken really does not apply there for sure!!

Another invasive species, the snakehead fish,is quite tasty eating as well.
