Nice knives, Matthias, both of them. The 1-8 looks very "pointy" smile

Yes, nice knives and an interesting observation by Peter. It has me wondering about where the downward slant on the upper part of the blade typically ends. If it ends at the same distance from the hilt on all model 1's regardless of blade length then an 8 would likely appear more "pointy" than would a shorter length blade. If, instead, the slant ends/begins at different points for different blade lengths to make things more proportional then less "pointy effect" but obviously it could vary depending on who in the shop is making the particular knife I suppose given that these are all hand made. Interesting (to me) bit of RMK trivia on how it's done. Or, it could all just be a matter of the photo angle.

It looks similar to an "STN" grind to me...

It's the standard grind......and yes, the photo angle is not very perfect......

Here is another photo from the 1-8" made by Gary Clinton. I bought it from him.

It is a little bit "pointy"....that's right. But not pointy the first photo suggests.

Pointy in a knife is a good thing. ;-)

Very late, but the other day I got my first #1-7.
Just have to find a lefty sheath now and then I will take it as my campknife!
I´m very happy with my purchase!
