I have to disagree with you Brian. That's a beautiful knife and what makes it special is the wait and the fact that you had the good taste to order a Randall in this configuration.

Model #1-8, late 70’s, stag, ns hilt. (Customer polished blade (ugh) at some point).

Looks like maroon but it is cherry red micarta.

Jim, did they have butcher paper in the early 50's? I can't remember.

That's a great question.I had a 12-6 Little Bear Bowie from the 60's & the original green butcher paper was with it.
Now I'm curious to know when RMK started using it.
