Late 70's early 80's red fibers were red till we shaped them, then they turned out to have a gray center to them...that's right, the red fibers turned gray with a very slight red on the outside of the gray...u can see the red if you really look close...

Also the center blue fibers were a grayish blue with more gray tint than blue...

Check out the red and blue of this 55+ year old Ivory. I think it still pops pretty good!

Was this due to the sanding/ buffing materials back in the day? Sorry if this was discussed before. I always thought it was faded from age.

No sir, the supplier just sent us some ugly red fibers that shipment...and since we order such a large quantity; it lasted quite a few years...

This one came out pretty rad. My bone linen, along with brass hardware, Model "C" sheath...and #18 styled hilt! Hope ya'll like it.
