I'm posting this for a friend. He bought the knife last year at Blade. This is the only slab sided Model 2 I have seen but admittedly I have not seen as many Randalls as most other folks on here. Interesting also is that it is shaped in the commando style which is something else I have not seen with slab sided stag. The owner was told by the seller that the knife was made in 2010 which I have no reason to doubt but I was thinking that slabbing as a general option ended earlier than that. Also interesting that the knife has what looks like a "plug" at the butt which is something else I don't recall seeing before. Anyway, it's a very cool little knife. Any thoughts or input anyone may have about it would be appreciated. As always, apologies for my poor pictures.

Jim,
Really? I don't know "how" many times I've posted this one...but more than a couple, usually followed by some conversation. In short: They ain't rare with slab-sides.
Best, Capt. Chris

My bad. I meant to say that I have not seen other Model 2's with slab sided stag. I know slab sides on 2's are pretty common in micarta but I didn't think they were common in stag.

Great looking knife your friend has there Jim! I don't recall seeing a "Flatside" Stag handle 2 either. I have them in leather.

Thanks Bill. I thought I remembered you posting that up before and was hoping you would show it again. Very nice knife. Let me know when you get tired of it. ;-)

The #2 shaped stag handle was done somewhere other than the RMK shop... We wouldn't have left that go out with the drill hole visable..

Nice job though!
