It just "happened" sometimes, Ronnie. I had a Circa 1948 4-7 that came with a Heiser sheath with no markings. No rhyme or reason as far as I know.

I'm confused. Hayst is fairly confident that the knife and sheath are original to eachother, yet the knife and sheath were made nearly a decade apart?
