Wow Rod - that is a great collection of Model 5s! Congratulations!
Thanks for sharing them.
Especially the wood handled ones look great. I think you have shown us a couple of them already from close up as well smile

Best, Peter

Peter

Yes I have shown a few of them before, on close ups.

Capt.

I will attach a picture of the 5-7 you thought you may have owned. I did not take a pic with the sheath. But you are correct, it is a JRB with a white Norton stone. The knife has a NSH and I was told the handle was Curly Maple. I bought it of Ebay in May 2007 from a nice couple in the north west, Oregon,I think.

That's it! I knew it looked familiar. Curly maple, "flame" maple, "burl" maple...Whatever you want to call it, it sure looks like one of the "trio". Ya' know how unusual that handle was back in that time period? I would venture to say it was unusual enough that the chances are more than just "good" of your model #5 and "my" #5 being one in the same!
I know the guy I sold it to has listed and sold some of his knives on ebay. The "N.W. couple" could have picked it up from him...or from the person who got it from him...or the person who got it from the person who got it from the person or the....OK: You get the idea. It's a small world, this "Randall thing", and a lot of them come back around...Nice knife!
Best, Capt. Chris

Thank you all, for your kind comments.

There are many people that have alot more knives. Perhaps not all the same model, but with some sore to theme.

I am very thankful to be able to collect what I want. There are times when I wish I had a Model 5 with this or that option. But all in all, I am happy with what I have and try to add a couple Model 5's each year. Come on Blade Show!!!

The search is almost as much fun as owning, in my opinion.
