Jim, those knives are gorgeous. I'm no expert either, but that might be California Buckeye burl on that first handle. Really sweet. The first knife in that set of three is a stunner as well. Do you know who did the scrim of the Gyrfalcon on the handle? I love the way the artist used the natural colors in the handle to represent the cliff the bird is sitting on. Some people have such amazing imagination and talent.

Here is a Bear Bowie I just acquired. It appears to be a knife with seven spacers. Too bad the spacers are so faded. This came from a group of knives that had been neglected for many years. I'm lucky the blade isn't all rusty! Unfortunately, the original sheath was either lost or severely damaged in years past and did not accompany the knife.

Here are a pair of Bowies with old yellow micarta handles. One is a Little Bear and the other is a Sportsman's Bowie, both with six inch blades.
