Truth. Why abuse a 400.00 knife when you can do a better job with a 10.00 hatchet?

Because there's not a $10 firewood making a hatchet Forum. If you can afford a knife, especially one that was made to take some serious abuse, and it brings you pleasure, then have at it.

I have a Becker BK9 and a Randall model 14. Which one do you think I have more fun chopping stuff with?

Not splitting logs. Just making kindling from logs. ??? Not really abusing a knife designed to bust out of aircraft unless it's bogus what the 15 was made for.
If that's asking to much of a survival knife shame on me. Trust me I'll show these pics in my sale add if I ever do sell it. Lol. Maybe the pics make it look worse than it really is. Idk sorry to offend the safe queens wink

And the reality is when backpacking I'm not gonna carry a axe or hatchet on top of other gear. So occasionally I might need to make kindling ..... That's all. Wanted to see how she did before I took her on a trip.
