I have several of the L.L. Bean knives including the first one they sold which is #2. # 1 is in the Randall Museum. I will try to dig them out and take some pics.

This morning I got a delivery from the Captain. It consisted of a pair of Randall knives, one of which is a Model 26 that I have lusted after for quite a while.
Mine has a carbon steel blade, brass hilt, stag grip with a brass butt cap and wrist thong. This knife will be used for hunting trips out at the ranch.
I think it makes a nice companion to my other stag handled Randall, my 12-9 Bowie:

Good thing I didn't open it first and see that stag! Nice knife! (Nah: I wouldn't have kept it..."but"...It's worth keeping). Glad you like it. Best, Capt. Chris PS: How do you like the radiused butt cap?

Thanks Capt!
I really like the radiused butt cap on this knife. I will have to keep that in mind for a future order of a Model 5-4 that I am thinking about!
