Got word that Sgt.Maj. Jim Booker, the recipient of our 2008 Christmas Randall will be at GROUND ZERO tomorrow. I will sleep better tonight knowing that!
Also, SSG Doug Matthys, recipient of one of the 2009 Christmas Randalls received his twenty (20) year letter and coin from the Adjutant Generals Office today. Sgt. Matthys we salute you for 20 years of service to our great Republic!

Since we are talking about updates here I figured I would add this update regarding another recipient of the 2009 Christmas Knife , 1LT. Jon Glasscock. Jon arrived in Iraq for his second tour to the Middle East on or about March 15, 2010 and I am happy to say he returned safe & sound to the states on August 25, 2010. During this most recent tour of duty Jon was the recipient of the "Combat Infantryman's Badge"
Thank you for your service 1LT. Jon Glasscock and I thank the members responsible (you know who you are) for the Christmas Knife Program and for recognizing this fine example of the American Soldier.
I hope he can settle in to a more normal life for a while.
Thanks for the update Tom. Jon's knife and presentation will always be very special. Thanks to your family for sharing the experience with us. And thanks to Jon for keeping us from being in harm's way.
