when I added the thimb extension, it added too much weight to the hammer and about half the time, it wouldn't hit the firing pin hard enough to fire the cartridge.

I have hammer extensions on my Contenders with scopes. I did not realize that the extra mass would slow the lock time that much!
Could have been the problem with my Rem. 35!

Good to know! Thanks Mike.

Would like to get the T/C info over to the T/C thread.

I had a heavy steel thumb extension on mine first, then during the Bellm fix, he also had a real nice aluminum one that I also bought. It came with 2 set screws and will not come loose.

Warning: This TC site is adictive and can cost you more of your hard earned money. However, be advised that this fellow, Mike Bellm, is the Bo and Gary Randall of the TC world. None better.

OK, so I am a dumb arse. I forgot we had a TC thread. So, it's there now and I won't make the same mistake again. Now I remember that we have a TC thread and I told my wife to remind me tomorrow.

I guess I'm the common caliber guy. I dont hunt yet, usually punchin holes in paper. So I'm running .308 win 175's in my rem. 700 in an AICS stock, and 77gr. smk's that I load in my 18" SPR .223 AR. I like to keep them together so I can do some bulk loading and shoot more! Oh and one of my favorite rifles is my .22lr, man its awesome with Wolf match.

All and all, those are 3 great calibers. "NATO" stuff is hard to argue with. The availablity of ammo, along with the fact that the 223 and 308 are quite accurate and great hunting/target rounds, make them 2 of the hallmarks calibers.
Best, Capt. Chris

Don't let him fool you Capt. This guy has so many guns he doesn't have a clue as to his favorite. But he does have some nice Ruger .22 rifles. He certainly has more than one .308 and .223. I won't even go into his class 2 stuff, I know he has actually sold all of those guns. He has none left mr. ATF.
