Can we start a group that is called by the acronym SHAG? Of course, it stands for Stag Handle Appreciation Group, and everyone is welcome. You don't even need to own a knife with a Stag handle (though it certainly helps when it comes to truly appreciating them).

I'll start with a few photos.

The #1-7" that my dad gave to me a few years ago:

#5-5" with Finger Grips:

My youngest son's #5-6":

This is my #5-6" that has a Stag handle that can clearly be appreciated by Tom "Dark Stag" DeHart:

My only Combat Companion (aka, "Battlefield Stag"):

Nordic Special #496:

Glades Hunters #61 & #62:

Finally, we can't neglect the #25 handle, so here is one of my #25-6" knives, which has fine silver furniture and sterling silver spacers:

Ken,
Where these photo's taken with the Cannon 90 IS? These are great, feels like you can reach out and touch the stag. Great Job.

Ken, I'd like to be a member of SHAG, but only if we use it as an American term and not a British term. Because the British term has nothing to do with stag handled randalls. Here's a picture of my most recently acquired stag handled 3-5. I have several others but really like the older polished stag.

Nope. The first two were probably taken with my D200, and the rest with my D300. The Nikkor 60mm Micro lens was used for all of them. Excellent lens.

Dan I really like that stag. Ken your photos are works of art as usual. You also have some beautiful stag. I especially like the one your father left you. I have some pretty nice stag myself. What I don't have is the knack or ability to take such great pic's. Do the knives have to be Randall? I have some very nice Puma's and they used wonderful stag back in the day. Not so much today.

I have posted these knives before, but never together. Here are some of my stag beauties.

I wouldn't say that my dad left that #1-7" to me, because my dad is still very much alive, and we hunt together every time I visit, which is at least twice a year. He turns 75 this year, and my parents will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary next year.

Sorry about that Ken. I guess I just read something into your post that was not there. Now that you mention it I remember you talking about hunting with him in some earlier posts.
