I've always had an affection for the Buck folding hunter, (110) types. Top is a 110 that I can't remember how long I've had. It got stolen once and the "Boys in Blue" got it back for me. next is a Bucklight that was an EDC for about 8 years. Third is a 501 that I lost on my sailboat and found it after about five years. Cleaned it up on a wire wheel. Just couldn't chuck it. Last is an uncle Henry Schrade that never got carried although it is a perfect pocket size.
Quick story:
Back in about 1966 I worked at a Ford dealership for about $60 a week. A friend there and I would buy $3-4 Case knives from the local hardware store. We were "Knife guys" back then.
One day a friend of his who had just gotten back from Viet Nam came in. The guy had a black pouch on his belt and pulled out a Buck 110. Man, that was the most awesome knife I had ever seen!! I wanted one, but just couldn't see shelling out all of $17 for one. That was alot of bread back then!! Still a knife freak after all these years.
They are all cool, great thread, Tony.

Thanks Tony!

I knew I was going to like it. I'll keep checking Ebay. One will turn up eventually.

Pat,
You're welcome and thanks for posting!
Buck, for me, was my first serious knife, when I was just 17 (1970)! A Buck Pathfinder -5" SS blade, Phenolic Resin handle.
And it was real cool looking ... cost about $16.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!-not a little money for me back then. ($72.00 now.) I bought my Brother a 110 for deer hunting.
He used it for many years and many deer!
Rick! - No problem! Don't forget to check AG Russell's Cutting Edge web site now and then - that's where I found mine!

Another inexpensive Kabar Folder (trapper??) that I love ... with jigged bone scales.
Made in Olean NY ... I don't think Kabars are made there any more, but I'm not sure.

A Canal Street Cutlery large Folding Hunter with Buffalo Horn scales.
5 1/4" closed. 440C Stainless 4 1/4" blade. Made in the U.S.
Don't know much about Canal Street, but this knife is well made.
#090 out of 400. Got it at AG Russell.

Thanks Pat!
It hasn't seen much duty yet.
It cut a few cigar ends down at the skeet range one Saturday afternoon! grin
