Anyone know what year ruana started using the dovetail insert on the stag. thanks for the info michael

The book says 1944 is when the dovetail was started.

You really know your stuff when it comes to ruana. how long have you collected them? i only have one and i found it at the flea market. latter on when i get some money saved up i am going to order a new one to use. they look good and feel right in your hand. and to beat all they are american made. anyway thanks again for the information michael

I bought my first Ruana in 1965 from a sporting goods store in Missoula, MT. I really didn't start "collecting" them until a few years ago. I really don't have much of a collection as I have trimmed down and settled on more of a Randall collector. I know enough to be a little dangerous but I can always consult my book for the tough questions. It's a nice find at a flea market as one never knows what you'll run into.
