My first Randall was a RKS #5 that I ordered from Rhett and Janie. My sister had told me that "a couple of really good folks had opened a store with some really pretty, but expensive knives" in our little mountain community. She was correct on all counts. After spending a good amount of time visiting the store three days in a row I joined the RKS, ordered the knife that I wouldn't see for over a year and bought a couple of hardback books on Randalls. Randalls are truly outstanding knives and Rhett and Janie genuinely wonderful people.

Dale was kind to post my first acquisitions circa 1959-1960 when I had
just joined this wonderful forum.

Five drawers of Randalls filled over the intervening 51 years still are not
as dear as this two.
