Jim,

It's difficult to be sure, but the silver spacers look thick in relation to the black spacers...... is it possible that the hardware is Doug Cream's silver?

Tune,

I just developed the photos this weekend and noticed that too. It may very well be silver hardware - another oversight on the seller's part? Also the sheath is marked 7 4 which means the blade may be 4" instead of 5" as the seller described. I am going to pull it and measure it today.

Jim,
A sheath marked "7-4" is really supposed to house a "7-4 1/2" knife.
Best, Capt. Chris

Cap,

You are correct. The knife measures almost, exactly 7.5". Now we need to know if it has silver hardware. Here are comparisons:

If you can measure the spacers with a caliper, according to the Randall faq

The sterling silver spacers are 0.040 inches thick, as opposed to 0.034 inches thick for aluminum or brass spacers.

This should tell you if they are silver.

Peter,

I heard from a good friend who bought the knife from the original owner, and he confirmed the hilt and butt cap are Nickel Silver. He also confirmed that Joe Mason did the engraving.

Thanks, Jim
