Since this is a starter knife, my vote would be for a standard tan model "A" sheath, since I believe if we were to go with a black sheath it would be an extra charge.

Black or waxed is extra..."BUT"...(I know...I know...) as a "user" and especially as a camp knife, waxed makes a lot of sense...and the extra charge still doesn't count towards the "options" on the knife. We're still building a very good "Starter"....and I don't care which way we go with this...as I've stated before. Best, Capt. Chris PS: This isn't a roll call yet either. I am not a fan of hones and stone pockets. I feel stone pockets add to much bulk to the sheath and I don't think the hone stone is worth carrying. Therefore my preference would be a Model A sheath, no hone, waxed.

Rod, like you I'm not a big fan of the stone pocket and I'd always prefer a waxed sheath as well but IMHO for a "starter" of a collection maybe a more "classic" configuration might be appropriate. It will be a super knife either way!
