picked it up the other day , threw a bid in and it stuck , should have in hand monday , it struck me as odd that there was no model on it and the makers mark is on the grip not the blade ,also the amount of metal on the grip outweighs the amount of leather was also odd to me , does anyone recognize this model? any info?

i havnt been collecting knives for long , mostly bayonets that go to firearms i have collected , i came across a old knife that was my grandfathers while looking for something else and it sorta sparked the bug , its a old western

i know they stopped producing Cattaraugus in the 60's so they are all atleast vintage i suppose , but i cant find any info or even a pic of this particular knife

The webp image format is kinda weird, difficult to embed.

I converted it to jpg (via Irfanview) for ya.

Good luck in your quest for info on this blade.

There are lots of collectors and writers who might help with this.

I suggest looking up Bernie Levine who writes a monthly column in Knife Magazine.

Also, contact John Gibson who deals in military knives. His email is: jrg@woh.rr.com

thanks fellas , i think once i have it in hand and can take some better pics and clean it up a bit i will follow up with those suggestions , im not one for overhauling these old knives , i just arrest any rust/corrosion , treat the leather and o my best to leave the patina alone

i have picked up a Camillus 1975 pilots knife and a WW2 PAL36
